The Park City Schools MTB coaches hope to develop lifetime cyclists out of young athletes. Whether you choose to race or train with our team, we encourage inclusivity at all levels. Park City Schools Mountain Bike Team is a co-ed mountain bike race team that is comprised of rising 7th graders -12th grade student athletes. We are a member of the Utah NICA leagues which is a part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. Regardless of ability, the NICA program and PCHS MTB are committed to youth development and providing a positive experience for all student athletes in accordance with NICA’s Five Core Principals:• Fun • Inclusivity • Equity • Respect • Community
Bike Skills
Students will learn biking skills including but not limited to, reading the trails, pedal stroke, balance, cornering, technical climbing and descending and some basic mechanics
Devo Team
7th and 8th grade athletes meet twice a week and are introduced to the science of cycling and coached to develop their skills on the mountain bike. Athletes follow age-appropriate structured training plans to develop their cycling fitness and skills.
High School Team
9th-12th graders train and race as part of a team, teaching them to grow as individuals and cyclists, and to be part of the larger NICA community. Student-athletes do not need to race in order to be part of the team!
